The Shelf.TV is a streaming video collection of Spanish-language movies, TV series, recorded performing arts events, and kids content from Latin America and Spain. The Kids section includes video games and acclaimed animated shows. There is something for all ages!  The Shelf.TV is available as an iOS and Android app, as well as on desktop computers.

Getting Started:

  • Click Access Now
  • New customers: Click “Create Account.”

Create an account by following the prompts:

  1. Enter your email address and create a password. 
  2. Select USA from the country drop down and Charlotte Mecklenburg Library from the library drop down.
  3. Fill out your library card number or One Access number, name, and birthdate. 
  4. Read and agree to the terms of service to complete registration.

Note: Customers under 13 will only have access to the Kids Zone content.

  • Returning Customers:

Select USA from the country drop down and Charlotte Mecklenburg Library from the list of libraries in the “Find and Select your library” section.  Enter your Library card number or One Access number and password in the “Access your Account section”.  Click “Enter The Shelf.”

NOTE: When the page opens you may see a popup saying that the site uses cookies. It’s okay to click “Accept” on this popup.  These cookies are essential to the platform.  The Shelf.TV does not use third party cookies or track personal data.

Borrowing:

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library customers can borrow up to 12 ticketed titles per month.  Tickets are used for movies and performing arts (look for the ticket icon).  All other content is unlimited (including kids games.  The ticket credit amount resets on the first of each month.

All content is available for viewing up to 48 hours after checkout.

Kanopy Kids

Stream a selection of educational and enriching videos on Kanopy Kids with developmentally appropriate, age-based ratings from Common Sense Media, as well as additional parental controls. Kanopy Kids categories include TV Series, Learning Languages, Animated Storybooks, Anime Favorites, Classic Films and Movies for the Whole Family. Kanopy Kids has unlimited views.

Getting started:

If you are a first time user, create a Kanopy account by clicking the "Sign Up" button. When creating your account, enter your name, email address and select a password.  An email will be sent to you with a verification link. Click on the link sent in the email and it will ask you to select your Library (Charlotte Mecklenburg Library) and enter your Charlotte Mecklenburg Library barcode and PIN number.

Access the Collection

  • Click the "Access Now" button
  • Enter through the main Kanopy site, and click on "Kids" in the upper right corner. Click again to toggle out of Kids Mode and return to the main Kanopy collection.
  • Download the Kanopy app for Android, Apple, and Amazon Fire tablets.
  • Kanopy can be streamed on your desktop computer, tablets, smartphones, and TV apps.

Borrowing

Kanopy Kids has unlimited plays!  New videos are added each month.

Parents can set a four-digit pin to prevent kids from viewing a title that has not been approved for viewing in Kanopy Kids.  Learn more here.

TumbleBook Library is a collection of animated, talking picture books. TumbleBook Library can be read by you or read to you! Our collection includes storybooks, books in French and Spanish for language learning, read-along books, non-fiction books, puzzles and games, math stories and graphic novels.

Getting Started

All you need to get started is your Charlotte Mecklenburg Library card number or ONE Access account number.  
 
 
Access the Collection
Click the "Access Now" button below.  Our subscription doesn't allow use of the Tumblebook Library app.  However, you can enjoy Tumblebook Library from your browser in your mobile device or tablet.  Tumblebooks needs an internet connection in order to work.
 
 
Borrowing
Books are read to you instantly in the TumbeBook reader.  There is no limit to what you can view.
 
 
Tips
Tumblebook Library is best enjoyed in the Chrome browser.  Some  of the books will not work with Microsoft browsers.
