Cassie Chaney is the Branch Manager at West Boulevard. She has been with the Library since 2017, joining the West Boulevard team in April of 2024. Her favorite parts of working in the Library are making connections with customers and helping staff develop and grow professionally. She enjoys reading, sci-fi and horror movies, and spending time with family, friends, and her three rescue dogs. One of her favorite authors is Sarah Waters.
Les Hutchens is the Branch Manager at Matthews Library. He has worked for over 15 years in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library system, and he first started working at the Matthews branch in 2011. Les has always appreciated learning from, working alongside, and leading the Matthews team, who he values as the most talented, positive, and collaborative group of community-focused library professionals anywhere. In his free time, Les enjoys reading, listening to music, taking long walks, and watching movies with his wife and their pet rabbit named "Queen Spud." Lately, Les has been reading a lot of Murakami, Vonnegut, and, typically, he has a non-fiction title or two on his nightstand as well.
Looking to earn community service hours this summer as a teen volunteer? Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is looking for responsible teens (ages 13-17) who enjoy working with the public, helping others, and giving back to their community.
Jenna Marotta is the Interim Branch Manager at Cornelius. She has been with the Library for 9 years and most recently spent over 5 years at ImaginOn. Her favorite part about working at CML is connecting people, both community members and library staff, to the resources they need to be successful. Jenna enjoys reading many genres in both fiction and non-fiction, as long as it's an audiobook with great narration. Jenna enjoys tending houseplants, listening to live music, and practicing fiber arts in her free time.
