Children’s Services includes children from birth to age 11 as well as their parents and caregivers. The Library offers workshops, storytimes, books and activities to help nurture a love of reading and learning. We also have children’s areas in every Library where parents and children can read, play and learn.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library operates under the guidance of a volunteer Board of Trustees whose members give generously of their time, talent and support to further the Library's mission. The Board consists of eleven trustees, ten of whom are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and one of whom is appointed by the Board of Education. The Board of Trustees hires, directs and advises the Library CEO, adopts organizational policies and an annual budget, and serves as principal advocate for the organization.
Building Digital Inclusion and Digital Literacy (DigiLit) to Enhance, Sustain and Evolve our Impact in the Community
The formerly named Beatties Ford Library opened on April 20, 1997, replacing the historical North Branch that served this neighborhood since 1957. This 19,645 sq. ft. branch is located in the heart of Charlotte’s Northwest business and residential corridor and serves a population with diverse needs.
