Use the form below to apply for your library card online. After you submit the form, you will receive an email confirmation, followed by a letter in the mail containing your new Library card and instructions on how to activate it by bringing proof of residency to a library branch. Do you want your Library card immediately?

Can't wait for a card to be mailed? Apply in person at your nearest library and get your card immediately. Be sure to bring a photo ID with your current address. 

Do you live outside of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina?

No problem! You can obtain a library card for an annual fee. No fee is charged to non-residents who own property in Mecklenburg County or who are students in Mecklenburg County. Learn more about obtaining a non-resident Library card.
