This primary source collection offers a window into centuries of African American history, culture, and daily life from more than 19,000 American and global newspapers including over 400 current and historical Black publications. Updated daily this resource provides critical perspectives on the experiences of being Black in America. Black Life in America provides full text searching as well as access to content organized by era for easy browsing or choose from nearly 800 suggested searches such as "Emancipation Proclamation," "Brown v. Board of Education," and "Black Lives Matter."
