South County Regional Library, serving southern Mecklenburg County, is the county's largest regional library. The 34,000 sq. ft. building was constructed in 1998 with funds from bonds approved by voters in 1995. Since opening, South County has become a favorite destination for all ages, serving over 450,000 visitors each year.
Upcoming Events at South County Regional
An exchange program for adults learning English or Spanish. First 45 minutes are English conversation, second 45 minutes are Spanish. There will be native speakers of both languages to help with vocabulary and grammar. Members attend both sessions. Beginners welcome.
Come learn fun ideas and activities that you can use to support early literacy at home. Learn how to use the ABCs of Active Reading one on one with your child. For parents and caregivers come prepared to play and learn together with your child. Registration required.

A teen led and staff supported program for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies ages 13-18 years. This group meets monthly in a safe and supportive environment that offers opportunities for learning and socialization.
Join us for a follow up to the Microsoft Excel Basics class. After a brief review, we will discuss formulas, functions, spreadsheet modifications, charts and graphs. Previous Excel experience is required.
Discuss current events and special topics like cooking and culture or listen to a guest speaker. Only Spanish is spoken and native speakers are there to help with difficult vocabulary and grammar. All intermediate and advanced level speakers invited.
