Rose Leary Love was a teacher, poet, musician, and writer born in 1898 in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina’s Second Ward. A dedicated educator, she taught in both Greensboro and Charlotte public schools from 1925 to 1964.

The Library is transitioning to a new Integrated Library System (ILS) in April. The ILS is the program that allows you to check out materials, place holds, and so much more. We want to keep you up to date and have created an information page for your guidance.

Donated in December 2024 by the Wing Haven Foundation, this collection documents the history of one of Charlotte’s most exceptional hidden gems—Wing Haven Garden and Bird Sanctuary.

The new Sugar Creek Library will double in size and is planned to be located near the Ella B Scarborough Community Resource Center.

This University City Regional branch closes for the final time on February 1 at 5:00 PM. The new University City Regional branch is located at 5528 Waters Edge Village Drive Charlotte, NC. The Grand Opening will be on February 8 from 9:30am to 4:00pm.
