New in the Carolina Room: Collection of Newsletters

Do you have family members who worked at the Manetta Mills plant in Monroe, North Carolina? If so, or if you are interested in learning more about the mill and its workers, have we got the collection for you in the Carolina Room! Our newly-processed collection of The Manettism, Manetta Mills, Monroe Plant Newsletters is now fully available. C.W.

New in the Carolina Room: School Collection

We are pleased to announce that the Midwood Elementary School Scrapbook is now available in the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room for our patrons to enjoy. The scrapbook dates from between 1940-1960, and includes newspaper clippings about the school, students, and staff members, as well as thank you notes to teachers, and a few group photographs.

Materials Selection Policy

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library will select and preserve, without bias or limitation on the right to know, a comprehensive collection of print, non-print and electronically accessed materials to meet the informational, educational, recreational and cultural needs of all citizens of Mecklenburg County. Further, the Library will offer wide-ranging collections to meet the various ages, interests, educational and reading levels and cultural backgrounds of its citizens. The Library will provide collections through which an individual may explore all points of view and issues of interest.
