Teen Librarian Recommends: Comic Book Edition

Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet

With Black Panther still thriving at the box office, Infinity War, Deadpool, and Ant-Man and Wasp premiering soon, plus Aquaman later in the year, 2018 looks to be filled to the brim with comic-inspired movies. Still, what to do to fill the gaps in between?

If you haven't already, you can follow up your last viewing of Black Panther with A Nation Under Our Feet. Killmonger may be gone, but things aren't all settled in Wakanda and T'Challa has a lot of work left to do.

Thanos, like many comic book characters, has a long and complicated history. See some of his early nefarious exploits in “Infinity Gauntlet” by Jim Starlin. Even with Dr. Doom and Galactus helping, can Marvel's mightiest heroes prevail against Thanos the all-powerful? It’s instantly available through Hoopla (all you need is your library card and an email address!). Check out “Thanos: Cosmic Powers” by Ron Marz to watch an epic battle of evil versus evil and possibly the end of the universe.

Can’t wait for the crossover? Who can! The Astonishing Ant-Man: Everybody Loves Team-Ups by Nick Spencer follows Scott Lang as he struggles to be a hero and not fall back into his old patterns. With Hank and Cassie Pym at his side as well as a few other hero appearances, this one just might help tide you over

Justice League may have introduced Aquaman, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered and waiting for the movie is taking too long. Thankfully, it’s Aquaman: The Trench to the rescue! Learn about what Aquaman really can do as he fights to prove he deserves to be called a superhero.
