Did you know that the Library offers free access to online tutors? That's right. With your library card, you can get free help from a live, online, qualified tutor—up to 10 free tutoring sessions each week!
And you can use this service—which is powered by Tutor.com—from home, school and even the Library. Help is available for K-12 students, college students and adult learners—in both English and Spanish.
Get connected to a tutor in seconds by choosing what topic you need to work on or review. You can even go back and recall the conversations or notes from your sessions. Tutor.com also offers perks like practice quizzes that allow you to test out your knowledge on many different subjects.
Here's how this service helped Nora during her junior year in high school. It might help you, too!
"During the first semester of my junior year in high school, I decided to take pre-calculus. Throughout high school, I've excelled in math and accepted challenges in school. Unfortunately, pre-calculus was my weakness. I mentally could not process the material in time for tests. After three weeks of struggling, a librarian pointed me towards Tutor.com.
Tutor.com is a free and easy tutoring service provided to anyone who has a Charlotte Mecklenburg Library card. Within a week of being tutored, my grade in pre-calculus went from failing to passing. The tutors took time to explain topics that I didn't understand and walked through sample problems with me. In all, Tutor.com saved me from failing a class that was required for college and I highly recommend it to all students."
