Explore tech career opportunities

Have you ever considered a career in technology? Occupations like web development, programming, usability testing, information technology and computer science are just a few options for those interested in tech careers.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of computer and information technology occupations in projected to grow 13 percent by 2026, faster than the average for all occupations.

Join Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Skookum Digital Works for a technology series about tech career exploration. The next installment takes place at Main Library, May 22 from 4-5 p.m. in the Dowd Foundation Learning Studio, followed by a tour of the Idea Box makerspace.

Two more installments of this series are already scheduled for July 24 and September 25 at Main Library.

In addition to programs, the Library also offers great resources to help you on your tech career journey.


Lynda.com is an online education site with self-paced courses where you can watch a single video or follow an entire learning path.

Universal Class

Universal Class is an online education site that has some instructor led learning and a more traditional massive open online course experience.
