Have you ever wondered what it takes to plan Charlotte Mecklenburg Library's Summer Break program? It takes many, many dedicated staff from across the library system to pull off our largest systemwide initiative. In fact, even though we are still in the middle of this year's Summer Break program, we are already in the early phases of planning for 2019.
Once the program officially ends in August each year, team members meet to evaluate how the program went and begin planning updates and improvements for the next year. We think about ways to make the program even more fun, and about how we can make the website easier to use. Team members research prizes and incentives and start working on how the Library will share information with participants.
We are always looking for feedback, so please contact us whenever you have questions or suggestions. Enjoy the rest of your summer - and keep reading and logging those activities!
Each week during Summer Break, the Library will give away three 16GB Kindle Fires. Prizes will be drawn by age category with one Kindle Fire each for babies/children, teens and adults. Remember that you need to enter either reading time or an activity online each week to be eligible for prize drawings, and you must have a valid library card number or ONE Access account number entered in the library card field of each participant's Summer Break account. Keep an eye on your email account as this is how you will be notified if you win.
Congratulations to the following winners who have claimed their prize within the last week:
- Adults: Kara T. (North County Regional), Ferris M. (Plaza Midwood)
- Babies/Children: Naomi S. (Beatties Ford Road Regional), Julia L. (Independence Regional)
