April is National Poetry Month!

April is National Poetry Month!

Spring has sprung, and everywhere POETRY is in bloom!  Since 1996, April has been celebrated as National Poetry Month.  This is a month-long celebration of verse in all forms, organized and supported by the American Academy of Poets.  You can read more about National Poetry Month and the  Academy of American Poets on their website.

Here in Charlotte, you can find all of your favorite poets on the shelves of your local library branch.  We also encourage you to come in and find a new favorite poet through one of our many book displays.  In addition, there are many poetry programs and events happening around the county.  Check them out!  No experience needed.
