This was amazing!!! It`s fun to relate a book to your own life and this book did that for me. It helped me realize (in an odd way) who was really there for me in my life and who understood me most.

Then Bernie’s mom dies and Winifred decides to go away to college. Both teens stumble in their efforts to make decisions. Making the wrong choices can have terrible consequences! A romantic story of growing up, heartbreak and healing.

Hoffman, Alice(2006) Visit the author's web site
Incantation
Young AdultEstrella takes comfort in the definites of her life: her mothers wisdom, her best friend Catalina – so like a sister to her in many ways and Estrella’s inability to ever do anything to please her grandmother. It’s when these definites start to crumble that she discovers how fragile life can be. She feels “forbidden” feelings for Catalina’s cousin, Andres and this escalates her family’s undoing. Hoffman is a powerful storyteller that uses words to create vivid pictures in your mind. A moving tale of faith, family, and the power of jealousy, pair this book with Jane Yolen's Devil’s Arithmetic or Lois Lowry’s Number the Stars for an incredible adventure.

Riordan, Rick(2005) Lightning Thief, The
Young AdultPercy Jackson thought he was just a kid with a lot of troubles. He had dyslexia and ADHD and had been kicked out of every school he had attended, but his troubles really started when his pre-algebra teacher turned into a Fury, a monster from the ancient Greek myths. After that he learned that he was a son
of Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the sea, and a mortal woman. The only safe place was Camp Half-Blood, a summer camp for other kids like him who were sons or daughters of Greek gods and mortals. After he reaches Camp Half-Blood, he learns that he is also destined to be a hero and must go on a quest to prevent a war between the gods. Does this sound exciting so far? Well, you will not want to stop reading
once you start this terrific book. It has action, adventure, magic, heroes, villains, and humor. This is the first in a series (The other two are The Sea of Monsters and The Titan's Curse) and I can't wait to read the next one!
