Guidelines for Reader's Club Reviews

The book being reviewed MUST be owned by the Library.

The review should be 100 words or less about a book the reader enjoyed and can recommend.

A well-written review will include a brief synopsis of the plot and address the following:
Pace. Is it a page-turner? Is it plot-driven? Is it stream-of-consciousness? Are there multiple plots?
Characterization. Are the characters memorable? Are they stereotypical? Are they strong or weak? Are they more important than the plot?
Storyline (not plot). Is it psychological and introspective, exciting and action-oriented, serious literature, or pure entertainment? Are people more important than events?
Setting. Is it important, or could the story be set anywhere? Is it simple or detailed? Does it affect the tone of the story?

Read the current month's reviews for examples. Reader-contributed reviews may be edited, and we may not choose to publish every review; however, we hope that you enjoy the experience of writing a review. We appreciate and look forward to your contributions to Reader's Club.
