This is a rousing story of newspapering in the Old West. The adventure for Wiley, Glorietta, Ma, and Pa actually starts at the town of Mulesburg, where "a dogfight in the street was considered refined entertainment and drew hat-slapping crowds." They had to move because a newspapering family in a town that doesn't read is not a good situation. The family encounters a boat stranded on dry land and such characters as Shagnasty John and the Fool Killer. Be ready for a fantastic tall tale and lots of great expressions.
