Have you ever had a snowman for a
friend? One morning, the sun was
shining and there was a fresh blanket
of snow on the ground. George put on
his warm winter clothes and went out to
play. After throwing some snowballs,
he decides to make a snowman. He uses
two buttons for the eyes, carrots for
the nose, and twigs for the mouth and
arms. George uses a scarf he had found
and wraps it around the snowman’s
neck. It is the perfect snowman. He
thinks he sees the snowman smiling at
him. Feeling a little hungry, George
gets two mugs of hot chocolate and some
cookies which he places on the snow
table. Will his new friend enjoy the
treats with him?

Yeah! It’s a snowy day! What are your
favorite things to do on a snowy day?
Do you enjoy making snow angels? How
about catching snowflakes with your
tongue or sliding down a snowy hill? Do
you enjoy having snowball fights and
going ice skating? Come play in the
snow with Little Bea and her friends!
They love doing all these fun things
and more on a snowy day. Daniel Roode
cleverly uses a variety of play on
words, such as naming the bee “Little
Bea.” He also uses alliteration, rhyme,
and onomatopoeia. This book is
absolutely precious and will make you
smile. The illustrations are bright and
colorful. You will want to read this
book again and again!
